/ August 16, 2012I love watching The French Chef . . . even if I wouldn’t touch most of what Julia cooked with a 10 foot pole. 😀
Tammy
/ August 16, 2012It was very different Nancy. You would’ve loved the veggies and the desserts though.

/ August 16, 2012I love Julia Child’s cooking and watched many of her videos. She featured many dishes prepared with real butter. I appreciate the flavor and creamy texture that butter adds to sauces. Fat and calories, not so much, but still I am a fan of butter and Julia Child. Great post, Tammy. I know Julua Child made vegetables stand out, too. She was a culinary artist. Blessings to you, Tammy…
Tammy
/ August 16, 2012She was really remarkable and what was so remarkable about the dinner was the number of people who could tell a story about her from experience. She was very accessible. Did you see Julie and Julia? If you haven’t, I think you’d like it.

/ August 16, 2012I did see it. I liked it. Julia Child was a very interesting person. They cast her character well.

/ August 16, 2012Wow! What an amazing meal! Julia Child inspired so many of us to start cooking. One of my most treasured wedding gifts was “The Way to Cook” by Julia Child. That book is always my go-to book when I need to know the basics. Thank you, Tammy, for inspiring us in a new way…Julia would be proud!
Tammy
/ August 16, 2012I didn’t know that about you Lisa.

/ August 16, 2012Looks like so much fun! I just started to read Julie and Julia so I’m leaning a bit about her! What an inspirational woman!
Tammy
/ August 16, 2012I learned a lot and really came to respect her. She didn’t begin cooking until her mid-thirties and she loved her husband so much!

Tammy

typewriter poetry
/ August 18, 2012Yes! Fantastic. I know nothing about baking…how did they make that edible print?
Tammy
/ August 18, 2012I’m not much of a baker either. They print the image on edible paper and then put it on the cakes.

/ August 18, 2012What a wonderful- and luscious- tribute, Tammy. An evening to remember.
Tammy
/ August 18, 2012It definitely was Kate. I need to do more reading because the more I learn about her, the more intriguing she becomes. And the very special thing about this meal was that it was not only all of her recipes but someone at every table had known her and was able to tell stories.
