I will be the gladdest thing
Under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.

Tammy
/ July 26, 2011That is what I refer to as a barrel cactus.

/ July 26, 2011Beautiful, Tammy. It’s a somewhat dark, gloomy day here in New Hampshire. It’s lovely to begin my day with a poem that motivates me to appreciate my world a little more deeply. Your photos are beautiful and included several flowers we just don’t see around here. Lovely!
Tammy
/ July 26, 2011The poem took some selecting as my favorite was just highlighted on another blog and there are many spoken about flowers.

/ July 26, 2011Great pics Tammy! I have a thing for Hydrangeas and I’m loving how it has come out in the picture. Also, the 2nd picture in the 3rd row, is it a Dahlia?
Tammy
/ July 26, 2011Yes, it is. Good eye Rukmini!
Rukmini Roy
/ July 26, 2011Oh, it is!!! It makes me so happy. I love Dahlias. And tammy, I have indeed settled for something wiry for my chandy! Not really beady but wiry. 🙂
Tammy
/ July 26, 2011Looking forward to seeing it! Saw the barbed wire… now, that is different.
Diane D'Angelo
/ July 26, 2011Pic in the upper right-hand corner opened my heart. Thank you.
Tammy
/ July 26, 2011Ah, the blue hydrangea. It does that for me also.
Lisa H
/ July 26, 2011Wow, just amazing. The photos of flowers from my childhood brought back many wonderful memories. Mom’s favorite is the hydrangea which we planted in front of the living room one Mother’s Day. My favorite are the cactus flowers.
Tammy
/ July 26, 2011Thanks Lisa. I really like the red flower on the vine too but I haven’t identified it yet.
Lisa H
/ July 26, 2011Looks like a passion flower. I haven’t had luck with them and the caterpillars like them. Is the photo from your yard?
Tammy
/ July 26, 2011No, they aren’t in my yard except the barrel cactus. Most taken on vacation.
Cris
/ July 26, 2011Beautiful photos, Tammy. They remind of my resolve to draw some flowers a la Josef Frank. Where did the time go?! Perhaps I will draw some of yours, if you don’t mind.
Tammy
/ July 26, 2011Please do! I would love to see some of these in your art.
Tes
/ July 26, 2011Beautiful! They make me feel so calm and relax 🙂

/ July 26, 2011SWEET!
Love the poem, Love the flowers.
Love my hydrangeas. When I was small, I thought of them as “old lady ” flowers. Now I am an old lady and I still love them!
Thanks Dear tammy!
Tammy
/ July 26, 2011And those are YOUR hydrangeas.
Ravi

Tammy

Brum Darling
/ July 26, 2011Lisa H is right. The red one is a passion flower. We have them in our yard and they attract monarch butterflies. Great shots, Tam… thanks!
Brum
Tammy
/ July 26, 2011Thanks Brum. I don’t think I would’ve guessed that. Do you make tea from them?
Rob
/ July 26, 2011Beautiful shots! You’ve inspired me to wander about my own place and take a few shots. We had blooms on some veggies and spices from our CSA here in the Phoenix area a couple of months ago, but now that we’re in in July it’s primarily root veggies, melons, and tomatoes.
Tammy
/ July 26, 2011Take us on a walk Rob. I love those types of photo blogs.

/ July 26, 2011The best thing about photography is being able to capture some of the beauty of nature without harming it – and being able to return to it again and again and again. Love your pics, Tammy, and thanks!
Tammy
/ July 26, 2011Yes, I agree and was so pleased to find a quote that said just that.
Montucky
/ July 26, 2011Gorgeous selection, Tammy!
Tammy
/ July 26, 2011They are beautiful but wish I had your skill at presenting them.
Hannah
/ July 26, 2011Oh, what a lovely poem! And these photos make me think of my mum, an indefatigable flower-photo-taker-but-not-picker. 🙂
Tammy
/ July 27, 2011The poem is just perfect.
kateshrewsday
/ July 27, 2011Divine, Tammy. It takes strength to touch, and not try to possess. Beauty like this is so transient but utterly breathtaking.
Tammy
/ July 27, 2011Lovely words Kate.
Kathy
/ July 27, 2011Sunny beautiful photos! I like what kateshrewsday just said. That strength to be with the presence of the flowers and not possess. To simply be with the beauty and perhaps lean down and smell the sweet perfume.
Tammy
/ July 27, 2011It is a good lesson I believe.
nancy at good food matters
/ July 27, 2011glorious! I love the beauty and simplicity of this–the poet distills these feelings into 4 lines, and you treat us to a visual feast. thank you.
